14 October 2011 - The innovative interactive mapping consultation part of this site allows you to look at our Initial Proposals by postcode, by council area or by constituency, and to zoom right in to see individual streets. You can also send us your comments on the Proposals from within that consultation area.
13 October 2011 - We have published our Initial Proposals for constituencies as part of our Sixth Review of UK Parliament constituencies. There is now a 12 week public consultation which lasts until Wednesday 4 January 2012. To take part in the consultation, you can visit the Consultation area of our website, come to one of the Public Hearings between 14 and 29 November 2011, email us at email@example.com, or write to us at the address at the bottom left of this page.
6 October 2011 - We have added detailed information about the existing constituencies which will be replaced by those resulting from our Sixth Review of UK Parliament constituencies. This detailed information comprises a spreadsheet which lists the electorate and wards within each existing constituency, and a set of spreadsheets listing the postcodes in each of the existing constituencies. We remain on track to publish our Initial Proposals in the Review on Thursday 13 October 2011.
13 September 2011 - We have announced our publication plans for our Initial Proposals for constituencies as part of our Sixth Review of UK Parliament Constituencies. We will publish our Initial Proposals on Thursday 13 October 2011 for a 12 week period of public consultation. We have also announced the dates and venues of the Public Hearings which form part of that public consultation.
9 September 2011 - We have published counts of parliamentary electors by unit postcode for all of Scotland's mainland council areas from 1 December 2010. This is the data which we have used to develop our Initial Proposals for constituencies in our Sixth Review of UK Parliament Constituencies. You can access this extremely detailed data from the Electorate Data page of the Reviews in Progress section of our website.
18 July 2011 - We have published a further Information Paper on European constituencies in Scotland 1979 to 1999. It is available on the Information Papers section of our website.
12 July 2011 - We have published new versions of two of our governance documents: our Financial Memorandum and our Commissioners' Code of Practice. Both are available on the Publications section of our website.
25 May 2011 - We have published a booklet setting out our Policies and Procedures for the Sixth Review of UK Parliament Constituencies. It is available as a PDF file from the Reviews in Progress section of this website.
24 May 2011 - We held a meeting with political parties on 9 May 2011 to explain to them our intended approach to the Sixth Review of UK Parliament Constituencies. We have added a page about the meeting to the section of the website on the Review. You can download a note of the meeting, together with a copy of the slides from a presentation which we made.
11 May 2011 - The electorate data for the Sixth Review of UK Parliament Constituencies has been amended to reflect the transfer of 14 electors from Glasgow City council area to East Dunbartonshire council area after a revision of the council area boundary at Princes Gate and Greenacres on 1 April 2011. The table and spreadsheet on this website have been updated.
4 March 2011 - The Sixth Review of UK Parliament Constituencies has started. We have issued a News Release and a set of Questions and Answers which are available along with all other relevant information on the Reviews in Progress section of this website. We will update that section of this website with further information as it becomes available.
24 February 2011 - We have extended our set of Information Papers, which are all available from the Publications section of this website. The series now includes a brief General Guide, an extensive summary of Constituency names, as well as expanded analysis of past constituencies.
22 February 2011 - The Parliamentary Voting System and Constituencies Act has come into force, and makes substantial amendments to the Parliamentary Constituencies Act 1986, which governs our reviews of UK Parliament constituencies. The text of the 1986 Act incorporating those amendments is available from the Legislation section of this website. We intend to make an announcement on 4 March concerning the start of the next review of UK Parliament constituencies.
20 January 2011 - The Commission has published its Corporate Plan for the financial years 2011-12 to 2013-14. The Corporate Plan is available from the Publications section of this website.
